I often get new career ideas but wonder, what is the best freelance site with no experience? Online is very competitive making it hard to get started.
One of the most frustrating things is trying to get your first sales on a freelancing platform. Or worse, if you have none of the required credentials, you’ll get denied access. So, I did a little research. Out of all the choices for a freelance site with no experience, I came across Fiverr. Now don’t get scared away by the time. Let’s dive into why I think that Fiverr is the best freelance site with no experience.
You may have heard of Fiverr before, I know I’ve come across it before but never took action. Don’t be fooled by the name. Fiverr is a very diverse free freelancing platform. You can sell an individual gig priced from $5 to $5,000 as a new seller and $10,000 as a level 2. This wasn’t always the case though. Fiverr was founded in 2010 and started out with just $5 gigs. So, it’s been quite some time since they opened their doors. This has allowed them to build credibility by amassing tens of millions of users. Most buyers come from the USA. However, many sellers do also come from tier 2 countries. They often sell their services for the cheapest as the US dollar is worth far more to them. Don’t let this scare you. Being served by a native speaker for a smooth experience is what most buyers want.
What Does It Take To Get Accepted?
Fiverr is one of the easiest platforms to get started on. Creating an account, connecting some form of payment method (ex. PayPal), is all you need to get started. It’s also completely free to list your services or “gigs” to the marketplace. As a new seller, you’re able to post up to 7 gigs which I recommend maxing out asap to get the most out of the platform. This makes this freelance site with no experience really shine above the rest as other sites require membership/bidding fees. 1 account per IP is all that’s allowed. But what if my spouse or roommate ends up wanting to sell down the road? For this scenario, simply contact customer support to avoid any issues.
How Hard Is It To Gain Traction?
A lot of people quit Fiverr before they give themselves a fair chance. Fiverr can be a difficult platform to get started on, sure. But, I can tell you that it’s by far the easiest freelance site with no experience to start and grow sales. Putting up 1 or 2 gigs then waiting and expecting this to get you sales is not the right approach. This is going to only cause anger and frustration as the months go by with no bites. You need to make sure to max out your 7 gigs right from the get-go. Then hop on Twitter, Face
My Personal Experience:
The biggest thing that helped me is networking with my friends, and colleagues to see if they legitimately need any of my services so I can get some of my first reviews. I ended up with 3 reviews and this was enough to start the snowball effect. I started 10 months ago and I’ve made over $1,300 bringing in an average of $150-200 per month. My sales have their ups and downs, but over time they are rising quite steadily. Some people may think $150 is not a lot of money. Well, that’s your cell phone, internet, and a week’s worth of food paid for. This can create that air space you needed to breath towards the end of each month.
How Much Can I Make With No Experience?
You can make a lot more than above, and faster too. My niche is not in the highest demand, but it’s passive income which is why I chose it. I realize this article is titled best work from home freelance site with no experience. But, the reality is you’re going to need to learn a skill eventually. Choose a skill you’re interested in learning and go from there. That’s the nice thing about Fiverr. Pricing your services below the average price is recommended to land some quick reviews. For example, a basic Shopify store setup averages around $30. Starting out, you could sell this service for $20. It’s quite easy, and won’t take much longer than 1 hour while following a YouTube tutorial. There’s plenty of other easy gigs too.
My Personal Top 3 No Experience High Demand Gigs
Don’t say no before I explain. There are sellers who made well over minimum wage with extremely low-quality voiceovers when they first started out. Now they can make into the $40’s per hour or even $100’s if they’re very skilled. All you need is a laptop’s webcam mic or your smartphone. Don’t worry about writing the script either. Buyers will send you their own script, say only 50 words and you can charge $5 for that starting out. That’s only 24 seconds of speaking! Even if you take 20 takes to get the right one, that’s still only around 10 minutes with short breaks in between (take some breaths). Now add around 5 minutes of basic editing, and another 2 minutes to deliver. This comes up to around 17 minutes which ends up being just over $14 per hour after fees.
Rewriting is one of the easiest services to sell on Fiverr if you’re very familiar with the English language. You can charge around $10 per 500 words starting out and eventually charge $30-50+ per 500 words after a decent amount of experience. At first, it will take you around 45 minutes for the entire order completion process of 500 words. You’ll soon be taking less than 25 minutes to complete the entire order.
This one has huge earning potential. Everybody has some knowledge that they can sell. You always know more than somebody on some things. Don’t know of any? Spend 1-hour brainstorming skills you’re good at. They don’t have to be sellable skills. It could be something like intuition. Listing all of these skills will help you dive into your subconscious eventually picking out the skills that do sell. Also, pick 5 close friends or colleagues you can email to ask what they think your best skills are. Make sure it’s somebody you can take criticism well from. Then, use these 2 lists to choose some sellable skills you can now try consulting on Fiverr with. Start out at charging $20 for a 1-hour conference call ($16 after fees). Depending on your area of expertise and level of knowledge, you can potentially make several hundreds of dollars per hour.
A Dose Of Reality
Making money online isn’t a walk in the park like most people think. If anything, it’s harder than working a traditional job. But, with this hard work and persistence comes freedom. Freedom from the 9to5 rat race, the daily commute, annoying managers and co-workers. Most importantly, the freedom to work from anywhere in the world. Yes, you will start out making next to nothing. But, to exit the 9to5 you need to do what people in the 9to5 aren’t willing to do.
Making It Happen
I recommend spending 2 hours after work and 4+ hours each day on the weekend on your side hustle. You’ll be able to match or even beat your current income level after a few years. You may think, a few years! That’s forever! But ask yourself, do you want to be looking back 5, 10, or even 20 years from now regretting you didn’t do something different? To do something most people wouldn’t do because they were too lazy? I don’t think so. So start out slow, 1 step at a time, and keep trying to get that 1% better every day. Have goals, reach for your goals, but don’t beat yourself up. 99% of success is failure. So, if you have a bad day, there’s always tomorrow.
