How to Redarken Sun Bleached Car Plastics Effectively
Heyyy dude, so let’s talk about how ur car plastics look like they’ve been on the beach for 10 years. U know, the ones that were once a nice shiny black? Now they’re all faded and sad like a puppy left in the rain. We gotta fix that. And I promise it’s gonna be fun and maybe even a lil messy. So grab some snacks, sit back, and let’s get to work!
Step 1: Gather Yo Supplies
First things first, we need stuff. Go find some rubber gloves, cuz trust me, ur hands don’t wanna be ruined by whatever magic potion we’re about to use. Then go get a sponge or cloth (old t-shirts work too), and finally find some kind of plastic restorer stuff. Doesn’t need to be fancy—just makes it darker than your ex’s heart.
Step 2: Clean It Up
So now that you got ur supplies, it’s cleanin’ time! Get some soap and water, mix it up like it’s a science project gone wrong. Take your sponge and scrub those plastics like they owe you money. Seriously like give them a good scrub-a-dub-dub. Rinse with water and dry with a cloth after because nobody wants dirt mixed with magic potion.
Step 3: Test Spot aka “The Guinea Pig”
Now before we smear this dark juice all over your car like Nutella on toast, you gotta do a test spot. Pick a corner no one will see when you’re cruising around town looking fly. Put a little bit of the restorer on it and let it chill for like 5 minutes. That way if it ruins everything (which could totally happen) at least it’s not super noticeable.
Step 4: Get Dark!
Okay now that the guinea pig survived—yay! Take that restorer stuff and apply it generously on your sponge or cloth, but not so much that it’s dripping everywhere or you’ll have more mess than solution. Start applying it to your sad plastic parts in small circles like you’re polishing an ancient relic or something.
Step 5: Show Off Your Handy Work
After you’ve coated everything in that good dark magic, stand back and stare at it for a second like u just finished painting the Mona Lisa but without the weird smile. Admire ur work! It should look way better—like it’s been revived from a desert island vacation!
Step 6: Let It Chill
But wait!! Don’t touch anything yet! The restorer needs time to soak in all its goodness. Just walk away from your car for like an hour (go grab coffee or take an awkward selfie). When you come back, check out how fantastic your plastics are lookin’. They might even look brand new again; honestly who knew restoring was this easy?
Step 7: Repeat If You Must
If after all that hard work u feel like it still isn’t dark enough make sure u read directions (yeah I said directions) but usually you can give another coat after it’s dry. But don’t go overboard unless you want ur car to look like Batman’s ride from outer space!
